I believe that the best professional learning for teachers is ongoing meaningful work that happens throughout the year. When I go to a school and do a workshop with math faculty, the most important idea for me is that the teachers are the ones who are focusing the work.
Because of my new position at Avenues: The World School, part of my work is doing outreach regarding PBL. So I do not charge a fee for my workshops, only travel expenses and boarding.

I have worked to continue to improve the quality of teaching in general so that the PBL approach is consistent and sound. This takes time and committment on everyone’s part, as teaching with PBL is an art and must be practiced. Here are some resources that are good reading:
